Due to insufficient strength of this section, a decision was taken to strengthen the road pavement structure with a separating reinforcement layer made of Geospan GT PP 50 geotextile.
Upon completion of the work, the said structure has become fully compliant with the regulatory technical documentation applicable in the road industry, in particular, with RIN 218.046-2001 criteria (flexible bending, shear resistance, bending tension and frost resistance in terms of strength) for the given design data (climate zone -3/2, location type -1, subgrade soil is clay-loam Wp=0.62, load at 115×1,3 = 149.5 kN/m, road category – II, service life of 14 years, rated number of load applications over the service life is 500,000 automobiles).
Geospan GT PP 50 woven polypropylene geotextile utilized as the separating and armoring layer is manufactured per company standard approved by Rosavtodor and is compliant in application properties with Road Rulebook 34.13330.2012, in particular, with the required value of tensile strength for road categories I and II amounting to at least 40 kN/m.

The road pavement structure at hand also meets the specifications of RIN 218.046-2001 section 5 (dewatering) in the event of the base course material permeability (aggregate mixture C4) exceeding 1m per day.
