Special measures to secure reliability of the subgrade constructed were developed by Insitute Gipromoststroy – Sant Petersburg AO design company in association with Gexa engineers.
The following counter-deformation measures were established based on geotechnical calculations for the eventuality of poor soils under the subgrade:
- poor soil replacement;
- reinforcement with woven geotextiles;
- slope flattening and ledge banking up;
- slope surface strengthening.
