Multi-faceted research was performed jointly by Gexa engineers and Avtodor design institute. Various geotechnical calculations were carried out to define optimal counter-deformation measures aimed at achieving reliability of the road structures constructed at a fast pace under complicated geological conditions.
The following counter-deformation measures involving geosynthetics were envisaged for this project:
- 3,000,000 m2 of Geospan GT PP 80 and 33 polypropylene woven geotextiles for road pavement structures;
- subgrade reinforcement with 1,500,000 m2 of Geospan PET 400, 600 and 1000 woven polyester geotextiles.
