Effectiveness and Application
Geospan GT geotubes are filled, by pumps or hydromechanically, with mixture of inert non-toxic substance and water (pulp). Geospan GT is used as a reservoir for dewatering and storage of water-insoluble hard substance (bottom sediment, ash, drilled cuttings, etc.) to allow further site operations and substance utilization. Filled reservoirs are also used for solving numerous problems of hydraulic construction.
Geospan GT use allows:
- filtration and dewatering of bulk solids at no cost of fuel and power;
- site area reduction;
- protection of bulk solids against atmospheric precipitation;
- local materials use for construction.
Geospan GT applications:
- construction of jetties and dams;
- provision of water area at shore line;
- soil storage and excavation;
- construction of breakwaters;
- embankment protection in the process of hydraulic filling.
