Effectiveness and Application

Volumetric geogrids are used for reinforcement of soil structure subgrades and protection of embankment slopes, excavations, bridge and viaduct abutments against water and wind. Geogrids combined with geotextile of various type are frequently used. Certain combinations of materials are implemented depending on the goal. Perforated geocells (GCP) are used for better drainage, additional friction with aggregate, as well as cable bracing.

Geospan GC (GCP) use allows:

  • longer road service life and inter-repair spans;
  • shorter construction time;
  • simpler and faster handling of weak soils.

Geospan GC (GCP) applications:

  • erosion protection of embankment and excavation slopes;
  • protection of bridge abutments, viaducts and water evacuation channels;
  • weak embankment basement reinforcement.
